Fishing
Confirmed Activity
Fishing is back in GTA 6, and this time it looks like Rockstar wants players to get their boots dirty in the swamps, estuaries, and coastlines of Grassrivers and beyond. From what’s been confirmed via Trailer 1 and Trailer 2 , fishing isn’t just a decorative backdrop. Players can actively fish in multiple areas, using boats or casting lines from riverbanks and piers.
Whether it’s for leisure, survival, or some shady bait-and-switch missions, fishing has been shown in various clips, including sequences where characters relax near the water, holding rods, and hauling in catches. Wildlife such as sea turtles and largemouth bass are confirmed to populate these waters, making fishing not only a peaceful downtime activity but also a way to immerse deeper into Leonida’s rich ecosystem.
Expect the activity to be more layered than previous GTA titles, with hints of fishing tournaments, specialized bait shops, and even dynamic weather impacting what you’ll reel in. Rockstar hasn’t detailed the mechanics yet, but the footage doesn’t lie — fishing is in, and it’s part of the everyday hustle of the state of Leonida.
