Street Takeovers & Sideshows

Shutting down intersections. Burning rubber. Dodging cops.

Intel Status

CONFIRMED

A major focus of the car culture shown in Trailer 1.

Racing from A to B is old school. In Vice City , the real action happens when the sun goes down and the traffic stops. Street Takeovers (or "Sideshows") are dynamic events where car clubs block off major intersections to drift, do donuts, and flex their rides while the crowd goes wild.

How it goes down

The Setup
Block the Box
NPCs will actively use their cars to block incoming traffic, creating a makeshift arena in the middle of the street. You can join in or just watch the chaos unfold on social media. 🚧
The Action
Hype Meter
It's all about style points. Drift close to the crowd without hitting them (or do, if you want chaos). The more smoke and noise you make, the more the crowd films you.

Car Culture

Different districts host different crowds. You won't see a hypercar at a mud meet.

  • High-Risers (Donks): Heavily customized muscle cars on massive wheels. A staple of the Vice City scene.
  • Import Tuners: The drift crowd. Lowered suspension, neon underglow, and excessive turbo flutter.
Police Response
The Raid
These events are a magnet for the VCPD. When the sirens wail, it turns into a massive "scatter" event. Everyone flees in different directions. Don't get caught being the last one in the circle. 🚓
