Fencing & Stolen Goods
Liquidating high-value assets in the underworld economy.
Intel Status
CONFIRMED
Looting mechanics and pawn shops verified in development leaks.
In Vice City , cash is king, but you can't pay for a new rifle with a stolen Rolex. The "Fence" system allows players to sell stolen items looted from stores, vehicles, or NPCs. Unlike GTA V, not every item is automatically converted to cash; you need to physically traffic the goods.
Lootable Items
The new inventory system differentiates between cash and "Valuables".
Small Items
Pocket Valuables
Items like luxury watches, gold chains, and smartphones looted from NPCs. These are carried on your person and sold at Pawn Shops. 💍
Heavy Items
Duffel Bag Loot
Larger hauls (like art pieces, drugs, or tech) require a Duffel Bag. You move slower and look suspicious to police while carrying them.
Where to Sell (Fences)
You cannot sell stolen goods at legitimate businesses. You must locate specific underground vendors.
- Pawn & Jewelry: Located in poorer districts like Port Gellhorn. They pay cash for jewelry and electronics.
- Vehicle Chop Shops: Specialized fences that strip stolen high-end cars for parts.
Economy Tip
Market Fluctuations
Intel suggests that selling too much of one item type (e.g., smartphones) in a specific region may temporarily lower the payout price. Diversify your crime portfolio. 📉
